Let It Snow… Or Make It Snow

I know it always feels a little weird to talk about winter events in San Antonio. When you have to scrape the frost off your windshields before you drive to work in the morning, only to go homeĀ that same afternoon with the windows rolled down and the A/C turned off, no one can blame you for thinking that winter is just an urban legend you heard about that one time.

But we’re a resourceful lot. And if we want snow, we’ll make it happen one way or another.

Which brings us to one of my favorite winter events.

Snowball RunThe Snowball Run, an annual fundraiser for The Academy at Morgan’s Wonderland, is now in its third year. It’s a 5K run/walk (with an accessible 1 mile walk) and a family-friendly celebration of the season, complete with hot cocoa, pancakes, special guests from Arendelle, and even snow.

I’ve helped out every year so far. It’s always fun to be a part of it, and you might recall how I ended up as the DJ for last year’s event. So of course I’ll be back for this year’s run.

Which is happening at 9:00am on Saturday, January 30, at Morgan’s Wonderland (5223 David Edwards Drive, San Antonio, TX 78233). If you’d like to participate in the run, you can register at the school’s event page, but if you’d like to just show up and offer your support, you can do that too. Either way – as runner or rooter – we’d love to see you there.

Feel free to share, and spread the word any way you can. Thanks as always for your support!
