Things You Can Do This 4th of July

So it’s the 4th of July weekend. And you’re looking for something to do other than see Terminator Genisys and imagine Matt Smith with his head in his hands saying “I left Doctor Who for THIS?” (Not that you were planning on doing that in the first place. I’ve just been looking for an excuse to use that joke.)

I might be able to help.

First, Morgan’s Wonderland will be hosting its annual 4th of July celebration from 9am-5pm on Saturday. It’s going to be a fun event, with a great lineup of performers and guests (including Joy the Butterfly, Captain America, and many more). They’ll have a parade, they’ll have face painting, they’ll have a dance party, they’ll have free food. And it’s Morgan’s Wonderland, so you know you can take the whole family there.

(Cleto Rodriguez was out at the park a couple of day’s ago to talk about the event – you can see his adventures in face painting here.)

I’d be there if I could. But I have a really good reason for not going.

Nikki and I will be back at Raymond Rimkus Park to help the City of Leon Valley celebrate the day. It’s their second annual 4th of July Spectacular, and we’ve been working hard to make it even bigger and better than last year. Two stages of entertainment. A tamal-eating contest. Dancers. Singers. Superheroes. Even the Blues Brothers. So you know you’re in for a great time there too.

(Here‘s the original announcement from our friends at KSAT 12.)

Either way – Morgan’s Wonderland or Leon Valley – it’ll be fun. I hope you can make it to one, maybe even both.

And I hope you have a great weekend, and get to spend it with people you care about.

I’ll return next week to catch up on more of what I’ve been up to. If I don’t see you at the park, I’ll see you then.

Take care!
