I’m a couple of hours home from Morgan’s Wonderland and the second annual Snowball Run (benefiting Monarch Academy). It was a great event, and if you couldn’t make it, I wish you could have.
If you did make it, though, you were likely one of a few hundred runners who joined us there today:
Or you were there to support a runner, or the students and staff of Monarch Academy (including Nikki, who did her usual great job as MC).
And you might have spotted a few familiar faces cheering on the runners:
And you might have enjoyed the music, provided by DJ… Lee Hurtado.
Yes, as it turns out, our regular DJ was called away, so I stepped in to help keep the energy and the tunes going. It took a little while to get used to the setup, but I had fun doing it, especially with the playlists available to me (yes, there was Bowie).
In the end, we had a great turnout of participants and supporters. And I hope some of them came away from the event knowing a little more about Monarch Academy, and the work we all do. I hope some of them came away with a new or renewed commitment to supporting our mission.
Thanks to everyone who took part, and thanks to all our sponsors (whom I’ll list here as soon as I have the confirmed info).
Most of all, thanks to everyone who takes time, even just a moment, to support our students, not just today, but all the other days too. It means a lot to all of us.
I’m sure we’ll see a third annual Snowball Run, and maybe I’ll even try my hand behind the turntable again.
(I said MAYBE…)
Until then, thanks as always for following along. Until next time…
